The shifter shafts on the side cover are also different from 68 and down vs 69 and up so the 68 shifter mounting kit does not fit the 69 and up shifter shafts. The only C3 install kit that has a chance is the 68. The Hurst Shifter assembly that goes with a C3 should bolt up to that install kit.

The good one was called then Syncro Lok which had stops built into the shift to prevent over-shifting and blowing the slider gear off the cluster gear.
